Hello! As Singles Awareness Day Valentine's Day approaches I am getting extremely excited. While I was at home this past weekend I had the pleasure of going to Wal-Mart and seeing all the little Valentine's Day cards that kids take to school so they could be exchanged. I remember how exciting Valentine's Day was growing up. I would wake up and go off to school with my bag of little cards sealed my heart stickers with my sloppy 1st grade handwriting.
I know as we grow up we think that Valentine's Day was so much simpler back then (which is true), but remember all the effort we put into picking out who got what card from our 24 pack of Rugrat's Cards? I remember!
I would start out my process by looking through the cards and seeing what they each said, and I would separate them based off of that. For all the guys that I liked You see as Valentine's Day approaches I have NO CLUE as to what I should get for my boyfriend. Last year I got him a DVD player and one of those cute Yo-Yo cards. The year before that, our first Valentine's Day, I just got him a mini-box of chocolate (the one with four pieces) and once again a cute Yo-Yo card. Valentine's Day wouldn't be so hard if I had a boyfriend who would tell me what he wanted, at least give me some type of idea. I am appreciative that he doesn't want a pair of $200 Jordans, but still! The only good thing I have going for this Valentine's Day is the fact that my boyfriend won't be on the East Coast until next Friday so I have a few more extra days until I get paid to pick out a gift.
Why can't we just go back to those days when all we had to get were those cartoon cards? Back to the day when saying "Bee mine." Meant so much more than a play on words.

I meant to send Vday cards (like the princess ones you buy at walmart) and I totally forgot till today :( Next year! (found your blog on the USMC board)
